Faith, Life, and Hope
These words were impressed upon my heart severally. Please read!!!
Can we all recall a time when a significant adult in our life failed to keep their promise? It bothered us deeply. And now we are adults, wonder why we also break our promises to those in our care? Sometimes, because of our weakness and limited resources, Sometimes, it’s because we are lazy and wicked, even when we have the means to keep them. Sometimes we forget our promises because even if they are important to others, they may not be so important to us.
But you know what, unlike us, Jesus never lacks the means or will to consummate his promises, He always keeps them. Promises of life eternal, of His undying love, of favour, of exceeding blessings, of health, of forgiveness. All these promises are still very much valid all because Jesus died and rose again; because He reigns.
So a couple of weeks ago I was discussing with a friend about scenarios from the Bible and he mentioned something from the old testament. Then he paused and said if this were to happen now, you know the punishment wouldn’t have been this severe and instant right and then he smiled and said but Jesus … Jesus made it happen. Yeah, so it’s quite simple to understand that without Jesus everything would have been a mess. Redemption was the best gift man could ever have.
God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:17).
And it is also wonderfully true that “Now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2).
But the thing is this time of favour and salvation will also pass. It will come to an end. It will come to an end for all humanity at the return of Christ. For when he returns, he will no longer be holding out his hand of mercy. He will no longer be calling people to repentance. He will no longer be tenderly urging us to find forgiveness, mercy, and life with him (Rev. 20:11-14). He’ll be all out to come get ONLY His own.
If you feel the need to make this commitment, and be one of His own, I’m right here. Drop a comment and I’ll walk you through it.
I hope you enjoyed your reading as much as I enjoyed putting them together .
Till next time,
